Ruff- Kemphanen- Combattenti

At a lek of Ruff we stayed over 2 weeks but due to the bad weather we only had a few good oppurtunities to photograph the displaying males.

This was one of the dominant males, only the dark-hooded males are allowed to copulate with the females.

This is where it is all about. A female comes to check the lek.

From the sidelines they check out the males.

When the female enters the lek the low-ranked satellyte males lower themselves.
